Jeanne Dailey Awarded Ann Gibson Community Service Award

DESTIN, Fla.—April 11, 2016-- Jeanne Dailey, founder and CEO of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties, was awarded the 2016 Ann Gibson Community Service Award by the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce at their 2016 Annual Meeting. The award was presented by the outgoing Destin Chairman and President of Newman-Dailey’s Association Management Division Ken Wampler and Destin Chamber CEO Shane Moody.

"There isn’t much that’s happened in the Destin community over the past couple of decades in which this year’s winner has not been a part – beach restoration, formation and leadership of Citizens for Good Leadership, the Destin Chamber, the United Way, Rotary, the TDCs of Okaloosa and Walton counties, the Destin Charity Wine Auction,” said Wampler in presenting the award. 

Dailey has been very active in the Destin community for more than 30 years, and philanthropy is the heart of many of her projects. She is the currently president of the Destin Rotary Club, which raises money for many local causes including Food for Thought and the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation. She is a board member/marketing chair for the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, which supports 14 local charities helping children in need in Northwest Florida. She also serves on the Sacred Heart Hospital of the Emerald Coast Advisory Board and First Florida Bank Board of Directors. Most recently, she teamed up with the Destin Rotary members, the City of Destin, and the Chamber’s Destin Forward Class to renovate the former Pottery World location on Airport Road to create a new Destin location/pantry for Food for Thought.

Dailey was humbled and honored to receive the award, named in honor of her long-time friend, Ann Gibson in 2005. Dailey joins some of Destin’s most involved residents and business persons, including Jami Jones of Destin Charter Service (2015), Audrey Jacobs of Bank of America (2014), Kim Wintner of Alliance Association Management Co. Inc (2013), Karen McCarthy of Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union (2012), Jim Wood (2011) and Bill Head (2010), among others.

At the Destin Chamber Annual Awards & Installation Banquet, the Destin Chamber staff also honored Ken Wampler for his service as 2015 Chairman of the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce. Founded in 1966, the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 50thAnniversary this year and is celebrating five decades of "Advocating for businesses… strengthening our community."
